Though the mango tree can be found in many countries like Mexico, China, Brazil and Indonesia, exportable quantities of mango kernel oil are coming mainly from the central areas of India where the trees are 20 m to 30 m high. The fruit is round and oval , the colour green /yellow /orange/purple when ripe. The kernel fat has a fat content of 10 to 15%. Manufacturing Process As Mango fruit after ripening, falls and dries on the forest bed, the nuts are quickly collected by the farmers. Since they have a high moisture level (42/48%) it is essential to dry the kernels to avoid fungal attacks and deterioration of the oil. Mango butter is then manufactured in a conventional oil extraction plant. Technical information This Mango butter is of white colour semi solid oil extracted from mango seeds.
